VicarVision
Role
VicarVision is the project coordinator and leads tasks related to pilot design and execution. In addition, VicarVision develops the emotion detection software implemented in the project.
About the organization
VicarVision was founded in 2001 to develop state of the art solutions and products for computer vision. The technologies they develop create vicarious perception, machines that perceive and name the objects and events presented to them through cameras, in the same way that humans would. VicarVision has a special interest in perceiving people’s behavior. FaceReader is the premier product for automatically evaluating emotional expressions and other signals in the human face. It is used in behavioral research institutes all over the world in studies assessing the usability and user experience of software systems, food preference and video conferencing interactions. With this project their experience in robotics and the health domain is further enhanced.
Blue Frog Robotics
Role
Blue Frog Robotics is the developer of the emotional companion robot, Buddy, used in this project. They will oversee the integration of their robot with the Consortium members’ solutions to further enhance its elderly care capabilities.
About the organization
Blue Frog Robotics was founded in 2014 and has extensive experience in industrial and service robots. A pioneer and leader in social robotics, that creates “Robots for Good” for both B2B and B2C markets and the company works to prioritize inclusion and diversity. Its first product, Buddy, is accessible, extremely easy to use, scalable and is especially endearing! Blue Frog Robotics developed Buddy, an “emotional AI companion” robot to positively impact social issues including education, inclusion and aging population. Blue Frog Robotics makes advanced robotic technologies and life-enhancing robots that are affordable in favour of useful services and richer interactions with loved ones, while enhancing quality of life at all ages.
Loidl Consulting
Role
Loidl Consulting is one of the SME’s involved in the project and is responsible for commercialization of the product and developing the LC-ecosystem as platform and marketplace. LC will support the development chain, as well as tasks of business (plan) development and design transfer.

Salzburg Research
Role
Salzburg Research will help perform some of the research tasks in the project. They will implement interventions, based on validated guidelines and research, using a sophisticated rule-based system and decision trees that allow for just-in-time adaptive interventions.

CNRS-LISN
Role
CNRS-LISN will be responsible for ethical guidance of the project and will work on emotion detection from audio and text.

CNRS is a French public research institution. From the study of matter and living organisms to that of human societies, CNRS explores all fields of science. LISN is one of the 1100 laboratory of CNRS, jointly managed with the following parters University Paris Saclay, Inria, Centrale Supélec. LISN’s research field are digital sciences and engineering sciences, artificial intelligence and data science, human-machine interaction, automatic language and speech processing, and bioinformatics.

Role
Erasmus University Rotterdam participates as a subcontracted partner organization in this project. They will participate in the testing phase of the project.

50 Plus
Role
50 Plus participates as a subcontracted partner organization in this project. They will participate in the testing phase of the project.
About the organization
50 Plus has set itself the goal of collecting well-founded data on the wishes, concerns and needs of people over the age of 50, to incorporate the results into research and development and to bring the emerging opportunities closer to this generation. At the same time, we want to sensitize the economy to the needs and wishes of this large group in order to open up new markets. Therefore, 50plus offers a wide range of services for seniors. 50plus has been involved in AAL projects since 2011 and gained valuable experience in further national projects and projects within the framework of the Lifelong Learning Program. As a member of the Salzburg seniors’ association, 50plus has access to more than 29,000 end users, with a strong presence in the countryside of the Salzburg area.
